US Embassy | Alumni app

Alumni
Client
US Embassy - Alumni App. The US Embassy of Jordan is a diplomatic governmental entity, representing the United States of America in Jordan.
Challenge
The US embassy did not have a single-pane of glass view with information on their alumni, their past projects and achievements. The proposal was a mobile application targeted for the US Department of State Alumni in Jordan and its associated community. They needed an integrated solution to keep them connected, to build and strengthen their alumni community, that was easy to use via their smartphones.

Technical Aspects

In order to achieve the desired outcomes, such as increased app speed we used native mobile application development technologies like Swift & Kotlin. In addition, we used Drupal CMS because it is great for content heavy and high-traffic websites and apps. Most people think that Drupal should only be used as a web-based content management system, however, it is a great tool to use as the backend of a mobile app development project too. All in all, Drupal is incredibly ground-breaking, adaptable, practical, and secure. Furthermore, Drupal has many standard features that help with content authoring, security and reliable performance. Reliability and security are an absolute must, especially when dealing with a government entity. These technologies together were used in order to cut down costs, due to the ease of integration with the other systems and to maximize the app performance.

Outcomes

A Mobile App solution for Android & IOS platform that took 3 months to develop from initial meeting to launch date. An alumni network with a registration form in order to capture correct data, with an engagement portal to share news, success stories, events, a grants section and even a chat feature where users can communicate with each other.
